The Jinx Ship

Tod Moran, stranded and jobless, signs onto the "Congo", a ship with a bad rep, and bang! - he's in the middle of several mysteries. The plot jumps right to it.  He and his college-type chum get a bit of a scare when captured by Caribbean ex-slaves bent on a mysterious voodoo ritual, but they're of course rescued by the black messman from their ship. There's much more - read it.
