Black Beauty by Sewell, Altemus edition, ca 1915.

Black Beauty, Altemus edition.

Quite a beautiful copy with unsigned coloured plates. The top board plate seems to be from the John Beer illustration, minus the park railings, in the 1894 Jarrold's edition. Altemus published numerous versions of Black Beauty, this one is not often found.
