Mother Goose's Melodies

Mother Goose's Melodies

33 nursery rhymes with music (melody line in treble clef and simple bass clef). There were earlier editions of "Mother Goose's Melodies", without actual melodies. Schuyler Matthew's proficiency with music (see his "Field Guide to Wild Birds and their Music", 1904, an amazing work in which he compares melody lines to hundreds, if not thousands, of examples from folk and classical music) plus his fine art make this edition a real treasure.   Hardcover, boards 24.5 cm wide by 31 cm tall, np; in tan cloth, gilt titles and Littlr Boy Blue blowing his horn on front. NOTE: We've had a copy of the edition in brown cloth with large paper pastedown, a later reprint; this copy is about 3mm wider & taller overall, and the paper is brighter. This copy has decorated endpapers, a design of tiny flowers repeated.
