Muriel H. Fellows (1902-1984) her doctorate at the University of Pennsylvania (Petrographs of the New World) in 1936 and began to write books for children on the subjects she knew well. This book though a little stilted, is kindly and full of information, with many appealing and accurate illustrations.

CONDITION: Good without jacket; name and light ink spatter on front endpaper; bottom extremities quite bumped and worn, affecting author's name, dark edge soil pp. 114-115, other light margin soil, unwrinkled pages, including plates. Item #14925
