A passionate cry for the French culture of Alsace, then under German rule, for which the author was sentenced by the Germans in 1914. A very beautiful book, with many finely detailed paintings of village life.
CONDITION: Very Good; 1935 gift inscription fep; no other marks, extrems somewhat bumped and worn, especially spine bottom, some toning near edge and erased mark above the H, generally the blue flowered cloth is bright.
