The Kitten Stand.

Grosset & Dunlap, Story Parade Picture Book, designed by Artist and Writers Guild, 1944, presumed 1st, no other titles listed for 1944 or subsequently; yellow boards with a pastel drawing of Kate and a basket of kittens, teal endpapers with white kittens, in jacket identical to boards; 8x9"; np. Picture Book Hardback.

When Kate heard her father say that Jumpy's kittens should be chloroformed she could hardly believe her ears. Thus began Trudy and Kate's efforts to find new homes for all the kittens, and more. GAD created Story Parade Picture Books from the most popular stories that had appeared in Story Parade magazine, many written and illustrated by famous authors and artists. These GAD originals were nicely made and "offered at a price so modest that every child is able to own the best."
