This is an abridged version for children of the original book, also called Pony Boy, published by Pilot Press Ltd 20 years earlier and much less common than the original. Pony Boys, who had worked up from being delivery van boys and were in charge of their own ponies, still drove the streets in the 30's. Drawn from his own experience driving cart-horses, the humorous story of a young boy making his way in the world. By a well known playwright.

CONDITION: Very Good Plus in Very Good jacket; 1970 gift inscription, no other marks, straight, clean, with darkening edges; in clipped jacket with tiny chips to extrems and wear to spine top; spine faded, white back darkening (foxing to interior). Item #20677
