Item #20949 Little Ann and Other Poems. Jane and Ann Taylor.
/Kate Greenaway, illustrator.

Little Ann and Other Poems.

London and New York: Frederick Warne and Co., [1883], (prior to 1917), printed in colours by Edmund Evans; Ivory illus glazed pictorial boards with green cloth back/corners; on both boards seated children hold up letter signs, "Little Ann" children facing front, "A Book" children away; blue green all around, yellow gold eps numerous coloured illus; 64 p. Juvenile hardback.

These lively older poems by the Taylor sisters, favorites of Greenaway's youth, deal with admonitions to naughty children, (Careless Matilda) thus the artist's children are more natural than usual and, as exemplars of social history, more interesting.

CONDITION: Good; boards quite soiled, corners and edges bumped and lightly rubbed, moderately but evenly foxed throughout, page 38 with tiny holes in margin. Item #20949
