The Suttons had hired a housekeeper, but Ida Early can do anything, from reading the comics aloud to the twins to roping a wild bear: she's the Mary Poppins of Appalachia. A funny and sometimes touching story set during the Depression. SIGNED and INSCRIBED by author in 1981, a bookstore sticker from the Appalachian Book and Record, Berea, which we have not removed.
CONDITION: Very Good Plus with Very Good jacket; no names, clean, straight, appears unread but margin bindery bump to pp. 11 & 12 and minimal foxing top edge; in jacket with half inch chip to top edge, half inch closed tear affecting title, light rubbing to bottom edge and tiny chips to corners; unclipped 8.95.
