Woofus, the Woolly Dog.
Racine, WI: Whitman Publishing Company, (1944) a Fuzzy Wuzzy Book #5056; pink and blue boards, large fuzzy black poodle on front (the fuzz seems to be attached to a textured fabric which is glued to the illustration, as the dog's muzzle is fabric), fuzzy black title, illustration of the dog on the back, rounded spine; endpapers show the poodle in various poses: A Woolly dog, a Big Dog, a Good Dog etc; a fuzzy dog or kitten on every spread with fuzz sprayed on illustration; 8x11"; np. Picture Book hardback.
Woofus, who starts out looking kind of like a cocker spaniel grows into a big and woolly dog, a brave dog who tries to be good.
CONDITION: Very Good without jacket; neat child's name, tiny bumps and rubs to extrems and faded spine but otherwise very straight and clean with the Fuzz in excellent condition, probably just lost its jacket. Item #21098
