Pippin Hill.

No publication data, ad for Dimon's in Providence RI. 10 interior pages, pulp paper, 4 full colour page illustrations and drawings in text; 6.5x9.25" Toploader medium softcover advertizing.

A curious advertizing booklet, set in the Valendam region of Holland, wooden shoes, tall fur hats for men, peaked roof houses. All the coloured pictures take place on a hill, and all were made for these rhymes. 15 rhymes, a few uncommon. Bright, flat colours, thick black uneven lines, deep black shadows, interesting composition. From the page layout it would seem that this material was adapted from a larger book. On the back is a detailed drawing advertising L. Dimond & Sons "Rhode Island's Fastest Growing Store." The store was sold and the name discontinued in 1922 after 35 years at this location. From the clothes on the ad, this looks turn of the century.
