New York: McLoughlin 1898, textured heavy paper covers; on the front, a robin in a waistcoat, tails, and top hat; on the back a very pretty border of wild roses and forget-me-nots; with 8 pages of b/w subjects to be traced, each with tracing paper overlay; staple-bound; oblong 6.5x6" Toploader medium softcover story.

One of a series "First Lessons in Drawing for Children". This one must have been the favorite: the first four pages show chicks sledding, goats dancing, a dog patrolling with his gun, a cat reading a book and others. The last pages have a mounted soldier, toys, and birds.
