The blustery, good hearted general travels to his Russian estates with Paul and Jacques Dérigny (from L'Ange-Gardien). His niece and her 8 children impose on him and threaten the Polish refugee he is sheltering, but the Dérignys figure out how to free the General so he can return to a happy old age in France.
CONDITION: Good Minus; 1921 gift inscription, slight slant, tight, gilt dull and almost printed rather than stamped, spine soiled and very faded, almost illegible; pages clean but pale foxing throughout, one illustration carefully coloured. Etat moyen. Item #22095
