It is vacation time for their little girl, so the toys decide to take a vacation too. Beaudodu the teddy bear burns all the notebooks and school books which his strict mistress uses to play school and takes the baby bear and the doll to the mountains. There they miss the return téléférique and must arrive home via airplane and boat. They all go safely back to sleep in the toy corner. Fifth in a series by a German born illustrator who resettled in Switzerland in 1933. Published (near?) simultaneously in German and French with most books translated or adapted by Pierre Vidoudez. An unusual large square shape with thick boards and heavy paper... beautiful watercolour illustrations. This volume less common, in French at least.

CONDITION: Very Good; no names or other marks, boards toned with light moisture damage along fore-edge not evident on pages except bottom corner of title page, tiny bumps to extremities, pages very clean, paintings luminous. Item #22202
