New York: Capitol Publishing Company Inc, 139 Fifth Avenue, 1949, Capitol Puppet Books; shaped glossy primary coloured puppet theater book with cut out stage; this opens to inner yellow curtained stage to which is attached a small pulp paper pamphlet of about 22 unnumbered pages; between this stage and the back of the book is a space containing a goose and a Mother Goose on 7.5" sticks (figures showing on stage about 3" high); 8.25x9.5" Novelty.
Mother Goose in her black hat and the goose in a flurry on heavy card sticks which can be moved around from belowi and appear in the puppet theater stage cut-out. They are designed to be stored with tabs which we have left untouched in new condidion. Includes a little play script booklet "backstage" of a simple plot to which Mother Goose adds many rhymes. This, in addition to Cowboy Jim and Punch and Judy were produced by Capitol Puppet Books and probably not republished. In lovely condition and scarce, one copy on WorldCat.
CONDITION; Very Good Plus; no names, tiny rubs to foot and goose wing tip, slight price tag bubble can be felt, not seen; all else including the little booklet in unused fine condition. Item #22720
