New York: Capitol Publishing Company Inc, 139 Fifth Avenue, 1949, Capitol Puppet Books; shaped glossy primary coloured puppet theater book with cut out stage; this opens to inner yellow curtained stage to which is attached a small pulp paper pamphlet of about 22 unnumbered pages; between this stage and the back of the book is a space containing a goose and a Mother Goose on 7.5.
Mother Goose in her black hat and the goose in a flurry appear in the puppet theater stage cut-out. These puppets and their heavy card sticks are in new condidion but the elastic band mechanism is missing , and thus the moveable figures are are loose and not permanently attached to the book as designed. Includes a little play script booklet "backstage" of a simple plot to which Mother Goose adds many rhymes. This, in addition to Cowboy Jim and Punch and Judy were produced by Capitol Puppet Books and probably not republished.
CONDITION; Good minus; no names, missing elastic band mechanism, thus grade; the existing parts are very nice and bright, tiny rubs to foot and goose wing tip, slight price tag bubble can be felt, not seen; all else including the little booklet in unused fine condition. Berton, Max. Item #22720
