The Three Little Pigs and the house they built

The Common Brick Manufacturers Association of America 1921, printed by Pomerantz, Philadelphia; mauve heavy matte paper cover extending beyond text, with black titles and olive green illustration of wolf eying three silhouetted little pigs setting out and orange wolf eyes, colored illustrations on every spread, 5.3 x 7"; 14 pp. Toploader small softcover advertizing.

Hildegarde Lupprian, who illustrated for McLoughlin, has pictured a large evil and elegant Art Deco wolf. Well designed, more like a trade book, with the simple story and a note at the end, appropriately, urging children to talk to their parents about a fireproof brick house. Uncommon, only the American Antiquarian Society has a 1931 McLoughlin with four titles including this.

CONDITION: Good Plus, no names, very light edgewear and one inch split, corners bumped with pale spot on back and faded spine, gentle bend on entire top corner, interior bright and clean with pale foxing on two margins. Item #22857
