Scroll down to view! About 40 years ago we found a box of jackets stored in the upstairs of the old Fire Hall by a children's librarian at our former college Lab School. The box surfaced earlier this month and to our surprise there were over a hundred mid-century jackets.. About half are from the late 1930s; most are in very nice condition, unclipped, in the $1.00 to $2.50 range.
1. Jackets were folded for storage, so I noted when the crease was in the center spine. Not too bad, but visible, see Coatsworth's Five Bushel Farm.
2. Dates within brackets [1939] indicate copywrite date or first ed. date NOT printing. These jackets are clearly early, and we can make a good guess using other titles mentioned/omitted and price, but it is not possible to ascertain a first edition on most jackets.
