Ottowa: Editions Lemeac, (1972) presumed 1st printing; laminated fully illustrated boards in iridescent blues with yellow, magenta, and green birds on yellow ground, endpapers with black and white birds in garden of ferns, in French, many deeply coloured pages; 9.4x12.3; np. French language hardback tall.

Colorful birdlike creatures, the pitas... pitatou, his wife pitabelle, and their child pit-tout-court and all their many friends, including pitatricot the knitting lady, pitarien the poet, pitaclic the photographer and pitaguitarre, you guessed it. They walk, they meet, they smell the apple blossoms, and somewhat later, they gather apples, but what a charming little world they live in! SIGNED and inscribed by author/artist in 1972.

CONDITION: Good Minus, nice with the bottom of the spine worn throughout to card. Unfortunately, an owner has carefully traced around some of the ferns on the endpaper. See the matching book Pitatou et le printemps, also signed, 176633. Item #17662
