Racine, Wisconsin: Whitman, 1932/1926, 1927 (Hamilton-Brown), paper boards with wrap-around illustration of Twinkies running across diagonally from their home as stars to the earth, (the same as the H-B book No 1, but with lavender stripes in the upp. Picture Book hardback.
The first two of the Hamilton-Brown Shoe Company softcover series, itself compiled from their ads, compiled in one large book. The constantly grinning Twinkies found their town and work away in a bright colourful world, fully realized with much detail. The rhymes flow smoothly, fun to read aloud.
CONDITION: Very Good Plus in Very Good jacket; prize gift inscription to an eight year old Massachusetts girl from her Congregational Church, and very well taken care of by her; no other marks or wrinkles, tight and straight, only rubs to bottom edge and extrems, especially spine foot, and light foxing on the half title; in a very clean and bright jacket with light edge-wear all around to 1/16", one 3/8 tear near front spine, one 1" tear on upper back edge; flaps unclipped but are without text.
