Very honest, sweet paintings of incidents in children's lives, in delicate colours with simple arts and crafts backgrounds. It seems to me that these children, like those of her mentor de Monvel, have more character than her usual. A treasure.
CONDITION: Good Plus in Good Minus jacket; 1924 gift inscription, boards extremely clean with bright gilt and white plate, but on close inspection a slight moisture wrinkle affects 2" of all top edge; pages very clean and unwrinkled w one almost 2" closed margin tear; in jacket with little loss of paper but soiled front and major tears on spine crease and back, looks much better in protector than not.
