Hans Brinker hopes to win the silver skates in the coming ice-skating race. A portrait of 19th c Dutch life, centering around a poor, loving family but also including long stretches of Dutch history and geography as a group of well to do children travel through Holland. This edition with quite a beautiful binding.

CONDITION: Very Good Plus; printed gold owner bookplate; tight, straight, clean; gilt and blue cloth very bright; pages flat and clean, only some tiny bleached spots on spine and top 1/2" margin of board, and one small corner bump keep this from being Fine. Item #19874
