Akron, Ohio and New York, The Saalfield Publishing Company, (1928) grey boards with gilt titles and large coloured plate with a little girl sitting on a fence and a boy in a tree while the birds sing to them, pink and red endpapers with tiny flowers, 6 lovely Deco plates by Cragin, drawings in text by Nyce on every spread, coated paper, 7.25x9.25; np. Juvenile hardback.

Wonderful illustrations, very active ones from Nyce and stylish grey blue, ochre, dull green and coral ones from Cragin, with poetry like: "Oh, is it not exciting/when the engine tears along?"

CONDITION: Very Good; endpaper bookplate is filled with name; on fixed endpaper Raymond has written his name again in large careful letters, extrems lightly rubbed, noticeable bump on spine foot; light reading wrinkles and margin soil on a few pages. Item #20076
