A little more complex retelling than some of Bruna's fairy tales, but still simple enough. ""The whole woods was sad. / Big tears rolled down the cheeks of everyone - the squirrels, the birds, the deer, and even the yellow flowers..." Wonderful little pictures which are almost toys.
