Die Braven und die Schlimmen Beeren. (The Good and Bad Berries)

Munich (München): Verlag Josef Müller (Mueller), (1935), no printing date, but from Bode and title list, at least 1953 and thus a reprint of the 1945 reissue; a good little blueberry child confronting a bad berry child (einberry or Paris quadrifolia, which is poisonous), little paintings facing every page, in jacket identical to boards, jacket flaps with "Bohatta Bücher"; 3.75x5.6", 12x14.5cm; np. German language small hardback.

Actually a guide to safe berries: berry children with leaves: a strawberry girl; blackberry sisters; deadly nightshade, with poems and drawings of the plant facing. These books, reissued from 1949 to 1955, have their own style, paper boards rather than pasted on plates, jackets, and, with this title, fewer illustrations. (Bode #69).

CONDITION: Very Good in Very Good jacket; no names or other marks, top board splayed 1/8", spine paper not flat, tight, with sharp corners; in jacket a bit rough on top edge about 1 mm, spine ends rubbed to white, light rubs on other creases; otherwise very crisp and clean; unclipped, original price very lightly penciled on back DM 1,90.
