An attractive board book with a spirited Gretel and a kind huntsman, the stories reduced to a few pages (in German). One of Scholz's art picture books, which include Schroedter's Grimm illustrations. Not common in this form. The number seems high but it is possible that there was a different system for board books and this is earlier.
CONDITION: DISBOUND, no names or other marks, moderate even soil to grey boards, spine cloth frayed at bottom end to one half inch and torn one inch at top, cover board edges rubbed all around; loose pages quite clean but darkening with worn corners. Probably not possible to repair unobtrusively but the boards stay in place well. Item #20426
