/Ch. Cogo, illustrator.

Animaux Domestiques.

Tours: Maison Mame, 1935 (44 388, Série M)) presumed first but University of tours has 1934, shiny paper covered boards, the top with a huge blocky painting of two cows on a hillside, the rear with a donkey head within a yellow circle on cream, red cloth spine, binding with three tabs sewn to signatures and then the pastedowns wrapping around first and last signatures forming stubs in the gutters of two spreads; 8.75x11.25; np. French language hardback tall.

Large informative black text faces a page with a very red title and a handsome flat Deco lithos of the animals on a generous white background. A companion to Cogo's earlier Animaux Sauvages (1933). and Alphabet des Animaux (1932). All scarce. A few exist in libraries.

Very Good; no names, small flaws: top board generally clean and bright with small tidemark on top edge 3/8" x 2", bottom board with pale red stain half inch wide along 1.5 inch edge and light pencil lines partially erased, red spine bumped at ends; pages bright and clean, a few with margin wrinkles and a pull tear on the Dindon margin and 1/4" thin chip on the Âne margin.
