D'Aulaire's Trolls

Garden City, New York: Doubleday & Company, 1972, stated 1st; reinforced brown streaked paper boards with ghostly trolls dancing around the border and troll shaped black titles and large troll lady with corkscrew nose on the back; green endpapers bound in, in jacket identical to boards, 9x12.5; 62 pp. Picture Book Hardback.

A hideously satisfying collection of clumpy monsters. We always loved the one of the Troll scratching his messy hair! The D'Aulaire's black drawings are drawn on lithograph stone, allowing for subtle gradations of scary greys.
