A Boy Went Out to Gather Pears.

London: Oxford University Press, 1965/1963, 1st UK, translated from German Swiss, printed in Stuttgart, green cloth binding, in orange jacket with suns looking at cartouche of little boy and his basket, oblong 8.5x3.75; np. Small hardback.

An old cumulative folktale, charmingly reillustrated. With a branch of green pears on each white background spread and the little boy and his cohorts increasingly filling the space. Chaos in the end as all the pears fall down!

CONDITION: Very Good in Good Plus jacket; no names or other marks, clean boards and pages but opens freely; jacket with no rips or tears but very rumpled, which does not show adequately in the jpg; unclipped 7s 6d. Item #21775
