Budapest; Dante Kiadas, 1934/1933, translated from the German to Hungarian by Havas Jozsef; red titles on yellow panel and the familiar Walter Trier illustration of schoolboys fighting in the snow; blue bottom board, blue cloth spine with gilt titles, large 8vo; 155 pages plus 4 page catalogue. Hungarian language hardback Eastern Europe.
About warring groups of children from two schools, with German economic crisis in the background. Kastner, a pacifist, remained in Germany, although he was viewed with suspicion by the Nazis and his books were burned in 1933. This was his last book before the Nazis came to power. Interesting that this book was chosen for this publisher's list in the Hungary of 1934. The title is not a literal translation.
