An excellent German primer, frequently reprinted, with a long history. Written in the 20's by a teacher at the Munich experimental school as an organic incorporation of holistic reading and writing lessons, "whole word method" The book a print into script approach both as to the font and the handwriting. As Mein Buch in the National Socialist era it included topics meant to shape the characters of German Youth. It was reprinted after the war, with these pages omitted. An interesting explanation of the author's method follows. The 1948 Manual Der Gesamtunterricht im ersten Schuljahr is available on abe, not from us.
