A log cabin and a cottage: "Some of my little readers may have seen log-cabins when riding into the country. They are used by poor people to live in that can not afford to live in a better house. Huts like the one shown above are very common in the wild woods of the western part of our country. But when the country gets settled, and they have mills for sawing logs into timber and boards, they can build better houses."

CONDITION: Very Good Plus; straight pen signature on blank inside cover, no stains or marks, cover limp and slight, uneven fading, but clean, small openings in spine from thread but ends not split, pages just lightly toned, back cover states one cent price for Series One. Item #22071
