London & New York: Frederick Warne & Co.; 1906, first edition, first issue, grey-green cloth covered "boards" wrap around the 28 pages (14 plates and 14 text pages) creating two "spines", the inside of the front board contains the title page and the inside flap the copyright page, in mottled brown with white text; the ouside flap forms the top board, with stamped dark green decoration and titles and a pasted on plate of the rabbit, as well as a silver gilt covered tab; oblong, 4.5 x 3.75" Picture Book small.
Such a bad little rabbit and such a good little brother! The bad rabbit grabs his brother's carrot and runs off. Even the hunter can only shoot off his tail and whiskers!
CONDITION: Good only; no names or marks, darkened and finger soiled but no evidence of moisture or stains; outside: quite darkened, spine creases rubbed, a couple of tiny rubs on the nice plate, most gilt worn from tab, spine corners worn to 1/4"; inside: all interior spine paper edges cracked, margins of pages soiled, creases on first two text pages, otherwise flat pages with two folds completely separated and a third nearly so.
