"Once upon a time there was a very happy French Town. It was so happy that it did not mind being kept in a Glass Case" What happened to the inhabitants' daily routine when the string was not pulled and the bells did not ring... followed by a Terrible Earthquake. Happy ending though. Clare Leighton (1898-1989), a prolific British American woodcut artist, created this charming children's story early in her career.
CONDITION: Very Good; no names, clean boards toned at scuffed edges with bottom corners and spine end tips rubbed to card, Very nice interior with pages flat and clean. Item #22760
