A Book for Bedtime Three Books in a Box

Box contains the Story of Mowie, Molly's New Neighbos and Billie the Turk No indication of publication data on the three PAPERBACK books or the box but we have had two of these in hardback soFrom Molly: Racine, WI: Whitman Publishing Co, Wig Wag Series, (1920), cloudy gray paper boards with the sparrow mother in a mob cap looking at her three nestlings; 4.75x6.5"; 32 pp. Small Boxed books.

Three of these simple Wigwag stories presented in a nice box for bedtime and told in clear, bright watercolor and ink lithos on every other opening. A charming item in an earlier style. The box is bound in the same cloudy gray paper as the little books, with a large window view of children playing on a window seat, and a little bird looking in. In this box:
Mowie's life in the circus and later with his child friend.
Molly's account of the baby sparrows, day by day.
Bobby and his uncontrollable monkey Billie who goes off with an organ grinder again in the end.

There were a total of four animal stories by Anna Merrill in the six books of the Wig Wag series and they are loosely connected, told by Elmer and his sister, cousin and chum.

CONDI"TION: Fine/Near Fine books in Very Good box; no names, books are as new, with tiny spots on Molly's front margin and Billie's back in sturdy, clean but toned box with light edge rubs and one rubbed corner. Item #22777
