A story beautifully retold from the Hindi lending itself to wonderful Lathrop illustrations. "When Kirpalu, the holy man who lived in the hills near a Hindu village, ceased his meditation and put his flute to his lips, the creatures of the jungle heard it. ... And so it was that Kirpalu drew the creatures to his cave, one after one, and made them brothers." SIGNED & INSCRIBED in April, 1940 as a prize for "best notebook" in The Musical Hour by Eleanor McCann, a Dayton, Ohio, performer and music educator, whose life spanned most of Dayton's 20th c history.. Among her many accomplishments, she designed this innovative program, a regular music education program for children which combined music, art and musical history.

CONDITION: Very Good without jacket; extrems lightly bumped and rubbed, pages a bit toned, still tight and straight and well cared for. Item #22831
