Peek-a-Boo Pam.

Springfield, Mass: McLoughlin Bros, Inc (1927) #276, (Humpnrey Milford UK) a shape book with heavy card covers of a little girl holding flowers, 9x3.5" Novelty shape book.

Pam gives a water-picnic party which ends close to disaster except for a kindly swan: "So they finished the lunch for supper/After a lovely tea; /They'd tennis, croquet, and plenty/Of games till to dark to see.". Pam is one Toddle of the 4 McLoughlin Toddles Girls' Series. (Tiny, Tabitha, and the Twins are by a different artist, unlike the larger Peek-a-Boo girls' series.) McLoughlin reprinted these UK Byron/Preston books without names or publication data, but they are unmistakable for their well-heeled 1920's ambiance and their gently ironical tone.

CONDITION: Fair; DISBOUND, young child's large name, spine split to top staple and paper worn, boards lightly soiled, bottom corners tips rubbed through, pages surprisingly tight and clean. Item #22905
